DR Congo: North Kivu: the town of Goma economically suffocated

The city of Goma, the capital of North Kivu province, is isolated from six territories around it. The M23 rebel movement occupied the main roads leading to Rutshuru, Masisi, Lubero and Minova. No more visits to these centres that provide food for the city of Goma. Women are forced to pass through Lake Kivu to obtain food products from Minova. The lake remains the only access and exit route from the city of Goma. This situation is the basis for scarcity and rising prices for food from the fields. There are calls for the Congolese government to intervene urgently to prevent the agglomeration of about 2 million inhabitants from being suffocated, in which it risks finding itself.
